About Mary

Mary Thompson Hunt was born in East Orange, New Jersey, grew up in Somerset, New Jersey and received her B.A. from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey.

A member of SAG, AFTRA, and AEA, Mary moved to Orlando in 1990 to work at Walt Disney World's Comedy Warehouse where she worked for 18 years performing in almost 15,000 shows.

In addition to being an improv comedy artist and trainer, Mary also does voice overs, host events, conducts interviews and has been the ‘Voice of Epcot ’ for 11 years.

Mary is currently at Epcot performing in “What's Your Problem? ” An interactive comedy game show sponsored by the Velcro Company and can be seen at the Slapstick Theater in Innoventions West.

While in Orlando Mary has worked on several national television projects including commercials, film, sit coms, and talk shows. She's also hosted open mic night at Hilarities Comedy Club for two years, performed live theatre, and many convention shows around the country including the 50th National Girl Scout Convention host of 15,000 troupe leaders. She hosted the 2007 annual ‘Give Kids the World’ Fundraiser.

Mary teaches improvisation and facilitates workshops and seminars for businesses that are looking to create powerful teams. Using improvisation Mary hones in on listening skills, creative thinking techniques, and trust. Some of her clients have included the Black Mayors of America, Blockbuster, Kaiser Permanente and the International School of America in Yaoundé, Cameroon Africa.

Mary's volunteer work has included reading to children in support of literacy for Bookpals, an all-volunteer team that promotes literacy consisting exclusively of professional actors from SAG, AFTRA, and EQUITY. She has cast and coordinated talent for numerous events. Some of the clients have included The Aquatic Center YMCA, and The Kathy Stillwell Foundation. Mary also raises money for AIDS research and awareness, primarily by riding in organized bike rides. To date she has raised over $20,000.

Mary is married 27 years to husband and artist Jason Hunt.
